Facets of Flower

Poised upright on the leafless hollow stems,
soft florets coil thorny ball in fear
with the tender touch of the slant sun rays,
make a unique flower within a sphere.

In the sparkle of resplendent yellow,
the harbinger of the essence of spring,
the pollinators scramble for nectar,
as I feel the livid winter going.

When the last tinge of sunshine fades away
from the threshold of golden florid days,
the florets droop for final peaceful rest,
not in vain, for their luster in air stays.

The slumbering seeds of prime progeny
on bowl of merry blowballs they appear,
perched on the fluffy parachute on flight	,
I see joyfully they fly far and near.

In the time of hued spring they resurrect
in verdant distant meadows unknown,
maybe they swing unwanted in soft wind,
I’m happy they bloom as dandelion.

Ahh!! A very descriptive and expressive work about the dandelion that most people don't want in their yard but they do show up. I think around here it has been the year of the dandelion. Congrats on your winner. Sara
