Eyes That Cried

When I looked into your eyes I didn’t notice how beautiful you were

I didn’t notice that oxygen had left my body

I didn’t notice your flawless figure

I didn’t notice you were looking back at me

All I saw was a past moment you shared with another

It was a slowly fading silhouette that you kept reaching for so I knew you weren’t the one

p.s. tears fell even though your eyes never cried…
