Eyes of Envy
Dilating, as they darken,
Nothing but hatred, abhorrence, and jealousy
Surround these dark black pupils,
Contemplating, staring, glaring,
As the crimson jealousy burns within them,
As if they were two comets submerged with fire,
Left right, left and right…
They shift with revulsion,
As they fill themselves with the aroma of odium,
Penetrating whatever they see,
Like thunder piercing clouds;
Their sight makes moments of silence scream out loud,
Intensifying seconds,
These eyes stare devouring
Hearts…filling them with greed, fright, and fear,
As they move sharply from side to side,
Enclosing them, these dark eyelashes slide,
Shining…resembling silver knives,
Bitterness quenches their thirst,
These eyes make everything seem intimidating…
They glow, and within them these dull feelings grow,
Envying eyes, in which they seek for everything but
Themselves; it’s like staring continuously out
The window, and never into the mirror…
-------------------------------------------------------------
Shrinking, becoming little marbles of innocence,
These powerful, envying eyes suddenly changed
Into something they never were…
A tiny piece of glass reflected reality,
It reflected a self’s truth…
Looking into eyes of the unknown,
Yet never knowing what lies beneath yours…
One day, when you repent, trying to defeat your remorse…
You will know who you really are within yourself.
