Eyes Like Violets
Sweet serenity in her smile:
Wide brimmed shelter
and eyeslikeviolets fluttering in water.
It is calmed reflection when
Every shadow is shadowed.
(There's a strong young prince,
troubling with the deep, unused winter)
But for her, gentle pleasure; a cup of lemonade,
Its icy sweetness beading with refusal:
Summer-time on her lips.
Any a noise, our trumpet... detrimental
To the silence and blithe surroundings.
A lady of summer, with her simple dress,
sits alone in the beautiful warmth.
