Eyes Closed

Its a Marathon
forgot to tie my laces,
Ran for the finish line
To get the trophy,
Crossed the line
to experience the other side,
From escaping the void
To being trapped in holes and
knocking against poles,
Hoping for hope...
Wishing for a wish...
Sleeping to dream...
Day dreaming to envision...
A life gained after a great loss,
Lost a lot when I had everything.

Dreams suspended in the air,
Thoughts as wild winds
Blowing to retrieve my desires,
The perfect storm...
Storming to ignite my spirit,
Lifted high above,
To discover the eye
I never dreamed of seeing it
So I was awake,

My takeaway, having eyes doesn't assume you can see. Interesting piece, enjoyed.
