"eyes Behind My Window"

There's a window to this soul that's not always near..
Sometimes the shade is pulled down and the vision
is not so clear...
Other days its a wide open show for the world to pick
apart my style..
Once in a while the blinds open slow for me to reach
out and touch for miles...
Late at night with the curtains drawn I can write in my
own world with no sight...
Early mornings with the sun so bright , I watch from my
window as the birds start their flight..
Sometimes a clear view through a window is not the picture
we see...
There is a whole other world behind these eyes , just take
a closer look at me...

Very few people allow others to see them as they really are. That's probably one reason so many poets here post under pseudonyms, afraid to admit what they wrote is a reflection of their true selves. We all have dark moments we choose to hide from others, Michael, but you always seem to write from your heart. Always a "7" in my book! Love, Carolyn
