Eyes At the Gates
In incensed silence standing ever obdurate
Upon the threshold at the gates of the realm
Seeing humanity’s demise in a world so lost
To where had the grace of his ardor gone?
Why were the eyes of compassion sewn shut?
Perhaps to conceal from the reapers maze
Pondering on all things causing this madness
Wondering for a moment…
Why can’t they see beyond their own eyes
Where is the morality?
Has conscience faded out?
What is it that is believed as truth?
Here lay the favored standing on the verge
Blindly uncaring lost within themselves
Where had they dropped their faith?
When did religion become so burdensome?
In incensed silence standing ever obdurate
He wondered…
If there was still faith enough…
Their messiah…
Their salvation…
Life…
