Eyes

every morning you wake up
and prepare yourself for what today might bring
place that smile on your face
brace yourself for the eyes that watch you

the ones that observe you
the eyes that you don't want to fail
that you want to prove to that you can do it
you can become the person you once were

the eyes that shine bright with tears
the ones that don't understand
and you just wish that you can tell them everything
just yell and shout
and scream

they're the ones that watch you
and you beg for time
the ones that watch you
and you watch them back with eyes that whisper
"I love you"

one day those eyes will see the truth
they will see who you are
and not what you were made out to be
and believe it or not
they're eyes will be shining with happiness
at the sight of you

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed."
