Eye of the Tiger

In life we face many battles...some challenge us in new ways we did not expect. The will is tested, but never defeated. We’re mocked and humiliated, but stay humble. Such is the tiger, efficient and silent.

Leaking gaping wounds
Coughing fur balls to laughter
Beware the tiger

The tiger is the most evolved of all the cats, dare I say of all the land predators.
Proficient on land and in water; in pitch black, twilight or at dusk; in the tropicas or in the tundra...the tiger adapts and dominates its terrain.

Darkness is haunted
Impossible is hunted
Eye of the tiger

I like the way that your last haiku brings us back to the title. The last haiku, I think, is the strongest part of the poem. I do however feel that there have been more solid poems entered into this competition. Thank you for entering my contest, and helping to make it the success that it has been, but I'm sorry to tell you that this piece will not be making it through to the top 20. However I will be giving you a honourable mention.

Morning Scott...thank you so much for the encouraging words. I recall you mentioned that you wrote your first Haibun resently, I felt compelled to do the same, after a bit of research...it's a beautiful form. Thank you very much for the Honourable Mension...this is insiration to explore this beautiful Japanese Literature further (:heers, Tbang
