Extremities

Extremities exist..
There is injustice..
In all walks of life..
Different continents of the planet..

Widespread poverty on the planet..
Of which there is widespread wealth..
Often at times
We wonder..
Feast or famine..
Why is it so?

Crying babies..
Malnutrition occurs..
Starvation in masses
Mothers feeble
Exhausted and frail..
Crying along side of their precious children
Food lacks
Water lacks..
Cholera widespread..
Families torn apart
Plauges..
The smell of death surrounds..

A life..
That is indeed short lived
The young dying..
And have died..

Tears have shed..
Once too many times
Among the poor..

I have a vision..
Of which..
Children..
Mothers and Fathers..
Have fresh, clean, pure water..
Daily..

I have a vision..
Of which..
Where hunger..
No longer exists..
Hunger pains..
Never again..

The poor and less fortunate..
Will become rich in abundance..
With abundance they shall lead a fortunate life..
Water, food and shelter..
All necessities of life..
They shall flourish..
All shall come into fruitation..

A beautiful child..
Smiling graciously at her meal..
A beautiful child ..
Smiling graciously at her glass of water..
A beautiful child..
Smiling graciously before taking her bath..
With fresh, clean, pure water..

A Glorious vision I have..
It all begins with a vision..

Children should never go hungry..
One day ..
Thirst and famine..
Will become extinct.

It shall be a glorious day.

I agree no one should want for food or water or shelter. Very well written, Robertina

I love this poem. I had written a very weak poem today along the same lines. Now I do not know if I am going to try and improve it or just chuck it in the trash. Your poem moved me! Love it!
