Expecting the Covid Police

In a doctor’s office during a pandemic Two old friends greet each other Loud voices, enthusiasm showing They run to hug Two thousand signs say stay six feet apart They are old men Probably far-sighted Cannot see the signs I look at the nurses Will they hose them down? The men embrace The Covid Police do not come to haul them to the pokey I feel relief

This poem has much emotion! Love it! I remember the delight an older woman (I being only a bit younger) felt when she realized she could remove her mask and we gave each other a half hug. We were in the library.
