Body aches; we pop in a painkiller
Yet how may we calm fears of fickle mind
Whilst unrequited love, a soul sinker
Spiralling heart yearning’s remorseless bind
Then there is this longing for God connect
That we may become one with love and light
Fallen from grace, we wish to stand erect
Seeking solace from sorrow, day and night
Upon cessation of fears and desires
Our emptiness feels a pull magnetic
Signalling that our heart is yet afire
To heighten and deepen, bliss ecstatic
Aliveness, sentience to cyclic pulse
Waves of joy and pain, attract and repulse
