Expanded

I have dreamt of magnolia fields Glistening beneath summer clouds, Where childish fascination meets reality, And it is so much more. Aspirations clung to watermelon vines And filled the air with persuasive appeal. Yet, beyond these striking moments of clarity There is much more. So I exaggerated and expanded My existence until the froth Was perfect for your consumption. Still, it was more. Now I find magnolia fields Cannot succeed your kiss Nor lend me to a place That is more than this. I will listen for your melancholy To learn of eternity's passion, Where the secrets are held, Till it becomes more.
