Existential light and darkness

A Speck of light in a chasm of darkness.
A Flicker of flame in an ocean of sea.

The chance to exist in space not reserved.
The chance to live in a life yet not free.

The stars of the night don’t pretend to have the knowledge to guide us.
Yet, to trust and navigate by lights long gone from the sky.

Perhaps we’re bound to the stars through light and time by some eternal illusion or madness?
Perhaps we’re bound to life not by chance but by design?
