Existence is a Frail Leaf

     Existence is a frail leaf
        battered by the storm
     Tossed about by winds’ desires
        vibrance turned forlorn

Why cling we so to what we know
        returns to ash and dust
To make our mark, to light a spark
        a candle midst the dark

Both the candle and leaf fade in time. Beautiful poem :)

"To make our mark, to light a spark a candle midst the dark" -- if each of us produces one that positively lingers, sparks a few others...perhaps we have done a well share of light? Brilliant poetry my friend.

nicely poetic and thought provoking, I see a candle very vulnerable to the wind, just like the leaf.
