Exeedingly Early Morning
An exceedingly early morning
splashes it's sunbeams across my face
melted into the pillow
creative even in my sleep...
I throw legs over my bed
stretch far and wide
as the dog wakes from sleep and wag hers tail-
a sure sign she is ready
Out walking I glance up at those giant trees
holding out tendrils so a murder of crows can
sit upon them to caw and crane their black necks
in attempts to figure out who is who -
I notice the sliver of moon
enveloped between a couple of mossy black branches
as skies begin lightening while
movement is happening on the streets
I love the mornings
the solitary time where I can be alone in my thoughts
unencumbered by responsibilty
free to be myself
and enjoy this time.
