Excuses

Lying to myself to make excuses for all your lies

Why do I continue to protect my pride?

Lessons learned years later that only should have took a couple of days

Why do I stand up for someone who won’t even stand for me?

Sitting and watching as my pain grow like a weed

I lied to myself to lookout for you as you looked out the window

I watched you look the other way but still hoped that you would look back
towards me knowing you were ready to leave

p.s. Even when I found out she was a ghost I still chased her…
