Excuses
by M. Griswold

Excuses, excuses, seems everyone's got one or more.
Trouble is, excuses only closes opportunity's door.
Excuses keep us captive with limitations that are false.
Little self lies that dance around the truth like a waltz.
Excuses give us a license that tells us it's really alright.
When we fall short of ours goals we've had in our sites.
They keep us in chains holding us back from our true spark.
Those li'l sins that we tell ourselves when we miss our mark.
And it's really not ok with God that we do such a sad thing.
Because excuses only show how much of failure we bring.
He built us for success and wants us to stand strong and tall.
So stop using those crutches that leaves us bent over and small.
