Excuse Me I Say
Excuse me.
There’s a lion on your back, I say.
The girl laughs.
Thinking I am kidding.
It’s probably my boyfriend, she says.
I have been carrying him on my back for a long time.
It is her last laugh.
I run away as she is devoured.
