For the past 8 years I've gone into work unpaid to help give out the exam results and tomorrow is that all important day. Its a day of such massive highs and crashing lows but I wouldn't miss it for the world:-)

We will sit at the tables in the entrance hall Waiting patiently for the sea of white faces to arrive Anxious, nerves are frayed – and that’s just the staff! Waiting to pass over that all-important piece of paper These grades will change their lives forever And dictate which path in life they choose There will be tears of joy and whoops and cheers Sadness too when the grades show their deepest fears Tissues and chocolate biscuits and lots of support Wipe away the tears and slowly bring them down to earth Try and get them into university even if its not their first choice A day of massive highs and crashing lows But I wouldn’t miss it for the world Jan Allison 13th August 2014

Wow, I remember that feeling of realizing the world changes in an instant. The make or break of the future. So awesome of you to be supportive whether highs or lows, Hugs!

You've hit the nail on the head there Casarah it can be so so devastating seeing their dreams not come to fruition and sadly so few of them have a 'Plan B' in case it doesn't go the way they planned. It's A level day this Thursday and I'm back there next week with the GCSE results for the recent school leavers :-) Hugs as ever Jan xxxx

It can be so wonderful and so so so distressing Tim - thankfully i just hand the pieces of paper over - the teacher's deal with the students. I wouldn't give my son his results when it was his turn - he got a B grade for Physics but was predicted an A - he was 1 mark off an A so we were advised to get it re-marked - it went up 11 marks - the biggest discrepancy they have EVER had on a remarked paper it would appear a whole question didn't get marked and he got his A!!!!
