Evoking the Sky

I seek the thunderclouds
 on thunderous nights
when karma roars under sieving clouds
 bolting within, driven by desires
the darkness of Brahman & vitality of Krishna
rumbling earthlings, throbbing arteries
blood rushes the heart
lightning striking limbs succumbing
my knees weaken,
streaked is a surrealist’s sky lit,
 shamed shadows hide
tinkling rain droplets
quenching naked napes
given into those elements
evoking God's wrath,
 judgement alive, awoken I’m gaining
 invoking reality, unearthing its
primal pathways

Hi Anaya! What passionate images thunder through this poem, this journey of the soul. There is the energy of lightning in your metaphoric use of the storm - the wonder of the journey! Congrats and high fives! Wonderful writing! Blessings to you!

🙌 I'm extremely beside myself, whoa, a placement in Craig's contest, as challenging as his contests are. I'm thrilled he liked! Ty, sweet Sam.

Anaya, being in a storm literally and figuratively doesn't have to be bad. I really like the way you express the feelings here. It makes me think how lucky we are to experience nature and take it all in while trying to make sense our of what we're experiencing. Being home in a powerful thunderstorm with beating rain is a real pleasure to watch. I'm always sorry when it's over. Sending smiles!!

Thunderstorms devour the sky with a sudden darkness, giving a primal feel. They trigger deep-seated instincts through sensory shifts, chemical rushes, and a sense of raw nature. I too have mixed feelings when caught in a storm. Ty for the read & the smiles!

wow you write angst so well and I can feel the darkness in this one... Interesting use of Hindu Diety here and then you mention God.. We all need faith and hope to help us through adversity and you have described that so well here my friend... Sending you blessings..

This is obsession, Ceraunophilia. The contest asked for no religion or politics, yet my mind went there. Ty! Perhaps brother against brother, I go back & forth in mythologies. I leave this for interpretation. :) Blessings

Alison, thank you! I tried not to make it about religion, yet it's what my brain-stormed, lol. Blessings
