Evicted

i looked into your eyes
and saw that i was lost
i took for granted the home
i made in their dark hues
so you packed my bags
and demanded rent

you sunshine you temptress
i don't know who i am without you
you stole pieces of me
without my notice
and replaced them with
pieces of you

you locked the door
not thinking i would notice
tears you refuse to let roll down your cheeks
you took my spare key
not thinking i would notice
the pain you try to keep discreet

i know you don't want
to confess your silent struggle
but can i not just
hold your hand during your sorrow

oh my light my goddess
i'd do anything for you
but please
i beg
don't ask that i get used to your heartbroken smile
