You know the adage all too well
"This too shall pass"
You've pried yourself free from the jaws
Of misfortune time and time again
So why should yet another be any different?
Troubles that plague you aren't as bad as they seem
Just have faith that...
Everything will be alright
More than once you've fallen deep
Into the abyss of life's well
And then you pulled yourself up and out, didn't you?
Push, my friend, push along
Even though
Adversity has turned the crescent moon upside down
Just believe that it will flip back into a smile again
Everything will be alright
Who cares how stormy the sea?
Or how rugged the pathway?
It doesn't matter how grey the sky
This much is true, when it clears
Everything will be alright
No matter how tough the going gets
Dawn, after all, always follows dusk
That dream you had, that golden opportunity
That didn't fall through
Things of value lost or misplaced
Will eventually swing back like a pendulum
Everything will be alright
That ship that you watched sail
Should soon return to shore if you wait long enough
Keep a positive attitude and a smile
And the sun will thaw
Your glacier of woes into a puddle
Shaky foundations of love, of relationships, of dreams
Will once again stand firm if you keep the faith
Hope for the best and never fear
Everything will be alright
