Everything Hurts Until

My back is sore today. My legs can barely walk.
I am almost too tired to move
When I get home from work I plan to gobble down a bag of chips, and take a nap.
Arthritis is acting up in both feet, I feel seventy-two-hundred years old.
My best friend calls, inviting me to supper.

In twelve minutes I transform myself from a sorry, over-used plow horse into
An exuberantly friendly, prancing pony, decorated and energized, ready to party.

Are you sure you feel THAT much better? My husband asks.
My show-pony-self does not hear him.
We are dressing in our party costume.
He does not wear ribbons in his hair. He does not understand the lure of the show ring.

I am out the door in seconds,
Completely transformed.
Full of excitement.
I do not feel a day over 45.

That's all it takes to rejuvenate. Great one.

Thank you Rhona. I thought "is this too much?" But Trixie reminded me who we are.

Thank you Ilene. It is so funny how fast I can become a changeling when a friend calls with an idea.
