Everything Ends

Just when things
begin to make sense
things as they are
become past tense

And just when those things
start to fall into place
a great big shift
ripples time and space

Which may not
necessarily be bad
'til the things you have
become what you had

And the people you know
become who you once knew
and the familiar ways
become strange to you

Of change I'm really
not a big fan
I keep things the same
as long as I can

From time and love
to people and trends
one thing's for certain ~
everything ends

Thank u! I was fairly prolific a few years back when I joined here, until I rediscovered my first love, oil painting. Since then I've been very prolific in that. But I still write here and there. This one came to me just this morning when I learned one of my favorite co-workers at my job is leaving. :)
