Suzie lived next door to Tom, and their families were the best of friends; Like toffee clouds, chasing rainbows, once the blue storm wildly spends! Tom and Susie enjoyed playing together, since they were the same age; Like fine art, in the age of colors, when beautiful became all the rage! Bike riding and hide and seek, roller skating and tag, they often played; Like sunset orange, a jewel of the dusk, recalling daring plans we made. Other friends told funny jokes at their fence; then came inside to frolic, Often with Tom's frisky rabbit, Charlie, in summer shadows, melancholic. Flurried family visits were ofttimes shared, for everyone knew everyone; When flustered, floppy flowers were windblown, very adored by anyone. They lived in the houses of pure friendship, like foot paths that intersect; Or isolated, yellow stars in space, sparkling endlessly, in order to connect. Salty sea spray filled the summer air, on their street of sudden sensation; In dazzle noon of moonlight memory, as colored blooms strolled the nation. Noiseless scarlet butterflies napped at night, as other neighbors knocked, Needlessly, because they soon entered, since the door was never locked. 'Inca's golden dream' sparkled starlight, amidst a plum, midnight reverie; In 'shimmer epiphyllum' crystal glitter, a part of the green documentaries. Firefly petunias lit languid evenings like magic-a whimsical act of nature, In long, golden summers of swelter, when amity welcomed the stranger. Suzie's and Tom's families loved to travel, and often vacationed together; Like diamond dusted, nomadic dragonflies, in the quest for sunny weather. Tom's family was originally from Scotland, and were making plans to visit; For the last time they'd seen them was long ago; like love's restless spirit! Suzie's family would be joining them, and Charlie would be going, as well; Like the finest hours of lang syne yesterday, that history lingers to retell. A glorious time was had in Scotland. A picnic was held in the visitors' honor. Laughter was caused by Charlie, as he broke from Suzie and ran from her! Simultaneously, Tom chased his balloon-for it, too, escaped, wafting away! Everyone laughed as the two pursued, crisscrossing all over emerald day. Many jokes, much teasing! Later a song was created, for children's delight; Like yon iridescent moon of summertime magic, so full, and glowing white. 'Did you ever see a lassie, A lassie, a lassie? Did you ever see a lassie, Go this way and that? Go this way and that way, Go this way and that way! Did you ever see a lassie, Go this way and that? Did you ever see a laddie, A laddie, a laddie? Did you ever see a laddie, Go this way and that? Go this way and that way, Go this way and that way! Did you ever see a laddie, Go this way and that?'
