Every Single Time
I'm so desperate to connect
Put myself out on the line
Just to have the knife plunged in my back
Every single time
You wanna end the loneliness
Let somebody in
But the second that you give an inch
They destroy you once again
Such cruel self serving vultures
Circling my soul
They rip my guts out ravage me
Leave my carcass by the road
I'm so tired of the pillaging
Exhausted by this game
Don't know why I bother
Things will never change
So I'll re-suit myself in armor
Cocoon myself and hide
Embrace this shell of darkness
It's safer than outside
