Every Road
The day we met...
Was not our first...
It was no coincidence...
That brought us together that day...
It was our souls...
Finding each other once again...
The feeling of familiarity...
And the feeling of home...
I will never forget...
That look in your eyes...
I knew it so well...
We were not strangers...
We were known to one another...
Our paths had crossed many times before...
I felt the earth move that day...
Everything felt so right...
So perfect...
So comfortable...
I felt like I was where I was meant to be...
Everything I had once known...
Changed...
And for the first time ever...
Everything made sense...
I knew I already loved you...
I had for so very long...
My soul was already yours...
I knew my heart would soon be too...
And just like that day...
Like the very road you were walking down...
No matter what I have done...
Or where I have been...
Every road I have taken...
Has only led me back to you.......
I have fought battles..
Within my mind...
As to within my soul...
I have waited for you...
The time has been so very long...
As my soul has traveled through many lives...
Every one of which was only to find you...
Yet you pull away... And I am left to wait...
With a broken heart and a saddened soul...
That weeps a heartfelt ballad...
As I long for you to come home...
I have always remained by your side...
Even when you could not see me there...
I know you can feel me...
Because I can feel you...
And although your journey...
Has been that of a different one ...
No matter where you have gone...
Or what you have done...
I know in your heart...
You can see...
That every road you have traveled...
Has only led you back to me......
