Every Last Man Jack

It's in our very nature to destroy,
a destiny we seem intent to bear;
annihilate the things that give us joy,
or worse, treat Mother Earth with laissez-faire.
The arrogance we humans have, I swear;
to think that we can gouge, take all we need,
not realise we make the planet bleed.
But like a cornered beast, it's fighting back;
and if we do not soon wake up, take heed
She will have us all, every last man jack!

Yes, Mother Earth is being exploited and tormented beyond repair. She can no more bear this callousness. Now she has turned on us. Unless we are careful, everyone will be wiped off from Earth's face.....! Such a dire warning ! Congratulations Terry on your great win!

A stern approach but so true Terry. We have so little time to wake up. Your poem evoked fear of what could and will eventually will happen if men, women and children do not wake up to the damage done and work toward fixing it. An excellent poem Terry. Worthy of high acclaim.
