Every Day Questions
"Every day I have questions,
As to why things happen
How does the robin know,
To sing 15 minutes before the sun shows
What triggers bulbs to sprout,
Or why crocuses are the first to come out
Why do some lilies have a scent,
And weeds flourish without repent
Why are chanterelles only under firs,
And morels best after a fire has occurred
What decides a flowers color,
Or why hummingbirds like red with luster
Why do we crave certain foods,
Or let the weather dampen our mood
Suppose we imagine these riddles,
As life’s little miracles
Tending to us each day,
In an “awe ha” moment kind of way
Inspiring by their mysteries,
Motivating our proclivities"
