Evening's Constant

The evening comes and goes,
as my thoughts drift to you.
You're a constant presence in my mind,
a memory that never fades.
You're aloof my abode,
yet my desire to be with you only grows.
I long for you, you know,
and wait on the edge of my seat
for your answer,
hoping it comes sooner than expected.
