Evening Serenade

Chirp chirp little bird
Your songs I have heard
Your summer clothes are so bright
Your melodies are just right.

I love to watch the way you sing
Stretching over your left wing
Have you ever been in a choir?
Or had formal lessons prior?

You can go an octave higher
You stay in tune for the entire
You entertain me during my evening sitting
An encore would be just fitting.

You sing the popular tunes so well
Someday you’ll be in lights, I can tell
I cherish these moments when you appear
Some of my favorites I will hear.

You don’t sing in an ensemble or band
Your style and variety is just grand,
Next time when you’re in flight
Stop in again, it will be a delight.
