Evening Landing

Wings slice evening air, Geese alight on mirrored pond, Splashing, ripples spread, Feathers silver, dusk turns gold, In the twilight, shadows wed.

an exquisite rhyming Tanka, Don. Your imagery left me a tad breathless. I especially liked "in the twilight, shadows wed." The title was perfect as well. Have a pleasant evening. Sara PS I love writing Tankas.

Thank you, Yolanda. Tanka poems afford us just that. Cheers, Don

The park my wife and I walk every day is full of geese. It's neat to watch them take off for the evening after their loud honking, which we assume is a form of communication signaling that it's time to rest for the night. Cool tanka

Hi Tom, Thanks for stopping by and sharing. We see the same in the pond in the meadow behind our house. I always think of Mary Oliver's poem,"Wild Geese," when I think of geese in a poetic sense. Don
