Evening

in the quiet of this night
on the patio sipping wine
winding down at the end of the day
a time to pause and to reflect

in the light of the moon bright
twinkling stars blanket the night
listening to the train whistle blow
the track miles from my home

serenity and peace abounds
comfort in the evening sounds
all is resting inside of me
my soul is happy, my heart is full
