Even Though It Breaks My Heart

I reach out and take your hand Even though it breaks my heart Hands once full of strength Are now frail and weak I peer into your eyes Even though it breaks my heart A mind once sharp and full of wit Now no longer recognizes me I listen to the doctor Even though it breaks my heart A person once so full of life Lays dying in white So I have to let go Even though it breaks my heart A soul I once held dear Is released to rest in peace
