Even the Dogs Are Dreaming Now

Even the dogs are dreaming now                                                                                                               Their tails Waging against the hardwood floor                                                                                   I en-vie them their sleep                                                                                                               For my dreams have locked me out                                                                                                As I sit here looking for answers to the big picture                                                                                        And in the darkness of the night I remember                                                                                             What it was like as a child falling asleep                                                                                          To the sound of my parents watching the Naked City                                                                     On the black and white T.V. down the hall                                                                                                           So long ago and far away

But the way you expressed yourself made me feel like I was there... the dog dreaming was an interesting tool for conveying the nostalgic quality to this.
