Eurovision Song Contest- past, present and future
If only the French could speak German,
and Germans could greet the English,
If only the English could speak Spanish,
and the Spanish admire Italian Margherita!
only if Russians could try be like Swedes,
neutral in war and peaceful with all,
only if the beautiful ladies of Finland,
could teach presidential men how to rule,
only when this mixture of jelly of nations,
can stop being an unsavoury dish on earth,
can the talented musicians of this great land,
can bring some meaning to how they are judged!
when ‘nul’ points and ‘douze’ points’ are awarded
not for quality but as a measure of political pull,
when a country is supported against unjust war,
and voted to win for a painful siren of a song,
when sweet music is ignored for many reasons,
and a song contest becomes a trade of prejudice,
you may have just been watching the Eurovision contest!!
Past have seen some glorious entries, Voulez Vous!
That famous band with four letters - ABBA,
brought much love to many hearts in the world,
they brought much unity to this divided land,
divided by tongue, divided by history, by war,
their soothing tunes could unify them all!
Andante, Andante, till we meet again!
Don’t know when? Don’t know where?
this Eurovision contest will produce,
such clean unbiased super talent that will,
bring happiness to all our hearts!!
