Notes About The Poem

Euphoria

And now the moment of truth...
        It's been a long time coming!
             He drops to one knee 
    and nervously proposes marriage;
    she tearfully nods her head, "Yes"
    Spectators clap, cheer and whistle.
     Euphoria traps them in it's cocoon.
                 Their happy feet 
                       levitating
                  off the ground.
               They're now flying 
               immeasurably high
               and somersaulting
             in the invigorating air
                   without wings.
                Euphoric both are,
             as if kissed on the lips
                        by God.
