Eternity

If it takes me an eternity,
Then I will take that time,
Because the burning of my feet,
Will cool between each stride...
The ones that were before me,
Who left handprints in the sand,
Weren't strong enough to foresee,
And too weak to make a stand...
But I see the horizon,
As it folds into the beach,
Like a prize to keep my eyes on,
When its just within my reach...
So where the others stumbled,
Or have tried to trace a step,
Of the ones who were less humbled,
Wasting time that they had left...

Loved reading your excellent poetry this morning Terrence. I hope you have a wonderful inspiration filled weekend. I will be back Monday to see if you have written anything new. Love, Carol
