"LAY NOT UP FOR YOURSELVES TREASURES UPON THE EARTH WHERE MOTH AND RUST DOTH CORRUPT AND WHERE THEIVES BREAK THROUGH AND STEAL; BUT LAY UP FOR YOURSELVES TREASURES IN HEAVEN WHERE NEITHER MOTH NOR RUST DOTH CORRUPT AND WHERE THEIVES DO NOT BREAK IN NOR STEAL; FOR WHERE YOUR TREASUR3E IS THERE WIL YOUR HEART BE ALSO." Mathew 6:19-21

Eternity

Eternity is very big.
It's high and wide and deep;
And most don't bother to prepare,
To take the final sleep.

We enjoy this life immensely.
We think that we're immortal,
And suddenly it's before us,
And we see the final portal.

Then it's too late for us to take,
Precautions and prepare,
To meet The Father of us all,
And see how much He cares;

When we stand before Him,
And His judgement we must bear,
Because to us His love meant little,
And we really didn't care,

That His Son became our scape goat,
As He hung upon that tree;
He suffered, bled and died like that,
To rescue you and me.

He gave so much to pay our debt,
And in return asked little,
And that's just what we gave Him,
And we really cannot quibble,

Over seeds that we have sown,
When there's no place to flee.
Our seeds have grown and now bear fruit.
We face ETERNITY.

I strongly believe we should make preparations for our death, it can come any moment. We take things for granted, never thank God, misuse everything..... Wonderfully penned Judy You are an awesome poet. Need to take time out and read your old poems.

This is amazing. I try to imagine what it will be like in eternity. God who gave every gift, joy, wonder, and when we messed it up , He, in the flesh came and gave His life to pay our debt. I cannot in any sense ever even begin to pay Him back for what He has done for me, His free gift of salvation to such a lost mess as myself. This life is but a vapor, and then eternity. I pray others can grip the fact of His love for them, and accept His beautiful gift of eternal life through Jesus. Hugs <3
