Eternity

Some call it fleeting, Even with forever in its wake, Others say its misleading, That in the end one heart shall break, I call it enduring, Hearts through an endless time, Like the sun spurring eastward, The night sky must acquiesce and resign, They back away in reverence, Before such a beautiful display, For if the dawn gained not deference, Our eyes would never see another day, So too will time defer, To our love, nothing more beautiful can exist, And so will it forever endure, Long after our last kiss, In rivers and streams we will race, And fly on summer breeze, Find the stars in their resting place, And fall with autumn leaves, Ages will be moments, When no words need be said, Forever is already behind us, And eternity lay ahead.

You have a true poetic sensibility... not maudlin or insincere, simply magnificent, with superior rhyming and flow. Outstanding imagery and description. BRAVO! Keith
