Eternal Valentine
The number to celebrate is twenty-one,
and how fast the years have gone.
We started with chocolates and flowers,
to prove the wonder of love’s power.
Thereafter was perfume and gold,
for a love that never grows old.
Then it was sweet scented candles,
and long romantic rambles.
Then times grew tough,
and love was enough.
There was nothing left to prove,
as love onwards moved.
We had wonderful meals,
and moments we had to steal.
The love had no end,
because we’re good friends.
I no longer ask if you’ll be mine,
my sweet eternal valentine.
