Eternal Time

Eternal time – in minutes and days

The greater spent in foolish ways

Planning tomorrows – obsolete the moment past

Wishing for yesterdays that didn't last

Harboring dreams – no truth there told

Just glory days – redundant and old

With grey temples and sallow skin

The mirrored image reflects our sin

Time never tires, never rests –won't expire

Man's constant eclipse – this funeral pyre

Still marching in flames fueled by haste

Our strides fall short – time sets the pace

Days end – bittersweet, we suffer time go

We lived, or did we?

Was every seed sown?

Our memories linger – in various ways

But time undaunted marks their sway

Tomorrows leap onto the stage

And births new life – with brazen rage

Our space is filled – lives rendered anew

The price – perception, erased from view!
