Eternal Rest

There are days that are difficult and I,
     yearn for eternal rest,
it would be so easy to just let go,
          as I slip into the void . . .
of endless black.

I want some peace from the chaos,
     life is too complicated,
oh, wish for sweet peace as I let go,
          as I slip into the void . . .
of endless black.

I want to see my mom, I miss her so,
     have things to tell her,
big and little things, so I close my eyes
          as I slip into the void . . .
of endless black.

I grieve my love who is a name engraved,
     God took him too soon,
I was not ready, so yes I wish to let go,
          as I slip into the void . . .
of endless black.

But, God has a plan for me, a reason,
     a purpose he will reveal,
he whispers, be strong, rest, so I do
          as I slip into the void . . .
of endless black.

A void of endless stardust dreams . . .
