Notes About The Poem

Belief is nothing without practice.

Eternal Life

Eternal Life
By Franklin Price

Eternal life is not a passing thing
It's here with us to stay
It's waiting at the end for us
Not about to go away

The choices that we make while here
On Earth while we're alive
Will let us see eternity
Heaven or Hell, when we arrive

Satan's always after us
Always here, and standing tall
Offering us most everything
Temptation at his beck and call

No rules, or laws to guide us
On the way to Hell, it's clear
We ourselves are all who matters
When the devil's got our ear

If we want them, he will give us
All the treasures here on Earth
Or we may look the other way
Look to God for our rebirth

Believing that our Lord and Savior
Sacrificed his son that day
On a hill upon a cross
Will take believers' sins away

Take up the banner of the cross
Follow the footsteps of the Lord
Apply the Golden Rule in life
It is a rule we can afford

When we're doing unto others
As we would have them to us do
We are following the path he trod
Which is the best for me and you

If we believe, we will receive
A seat in Glory by his side
And eternal life in Heaven
Where on golden streets we'll ride
