Eternal Dream
The day winds down and in comes night
As a welcome relief from life's dreary sights
I slowly snuggle into the waiting arms of sleep
To a world where, I hope, I wont have to weep
I float away to a happy place
Filled with thoughts of you and your face
Of your smile, your grace and your presence
Of You – my life's essence
The bad memories fade as in you come
To the world in my heart, that was once glum
But now there's happiness every where, a joyful song
Resonates in my mind and for you I long
It is only a dream, my brain tells me
What you see is an illusion, not reality
But thoughts of you seem to have a touch physical
Your caress so real, not virtual
My dream ends when dawns morning
Though I wake up hearing melodious birds sing
I miss you in every atom of mine
And long to hold you, till the end of time
I wish you could be forever with me
So your touch I could feel, your face I could see
Or sleep forever, to God, would be my plea
And dream of you for eternity
