Essential

Essential

These things are essential

Blood
But there is no blood in our veins
Water
But we have no water
Love
Yet we do not have a heart
Skin
Though by natures design we have a different skin
Freedom
Though we are all enslaved
Food
Though by wealth and acquisition
Its taste remains the same

Love
Through indifference carries a different name
Love
Through need turns to wanting all the same
Love
Inside a cell
Love
Drowns in the water of its own tears
Love
Is a skin of blood and heart
Is a freedom to which we can become enslaved

Food
Though by wealth and acquisition
The taste remains the same

Blood
There is pulsing through these veins
Water
A blue haven in which to drown
Love
Though we see love everyday
Skin
Though by devious swindle our skin is not the same
Freedom
A capitalist impression of wealth and religion

Food
Though by wealth and acquisition
The taste remains the same
