Essence of Cool

Hey look, ..another motorcycle man! Long hair and top of his head is tan, face looks like a Christmas wreath! Green bug juice streaks his beard, and orange beetles in his teeth. A bumblebee pockmarked his forehead, where it must have burned in like lead, No helmet or gear but he’s cool, a biker’s unspoken rule! This chopper with the suicide shift, was given by his ex wife as a gift, But he can’t get a date, even at the shows, I think it’s got something to do… with that dead moth stuck up his nose. Wears shorts to feel the freedom of the breeze, between the tar spots and bugs on his knees. What a tough cool dude, Attention is his food. There he goes like he’s off to a race! A hatch of insects covering his face! Bare chest and black leather vest! Shorts and sandals for the rest! VA-ROOOM!! Bugs don’t bother such a cool dude, Look at him go ! …..MY WORD!!! Oh crap ! .. here comes a bird …

Va-ROOOOM. This is such a racy motorcycle man poem, Robert. Hey, by the way, is he wearing a colt revolver anywhere under his misquito laden attire? ha ha. Drenched in bugs galore, this poem is purely fun!! Gwendolen

Oh, Rob, you really had me laughing! In the Daytona area where I live, the bikers gather often and they have to wear helmets here to avoid getting pock-marked by bees. What if that bird were an eagle? I'm seeing two "road kills" at the end of this outrageously funny poem. Thanks for your comments. I have been having health problems and was at the doctor's nearly all day yesterday. Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. Love, Carolyn

Thank you for sharing your fabulous poetry today Robert. It was a very interesting piece to read. I am going to have to show this one to my hubby. He has a 2009 Harley Davidson Heritage SoftTail. I wish it would stop raining so we can ride. Love, Carol
