ESCAPISM
The scent of lavender carried me through the field.
I wore a white sundress as I ran free,
A hue of purple I only see in dreams.
For a while, I felt happy.
The smell wore off.
A voice spoke to me:
"Ma'am how do you like our new
fragrance- 'Lavender Divine'?
You can now purchase it for only nine ninety-nine!"
Pay money?
For happiness that's temporary?
"I'm looking for something else-
I'm so sorry."
Maybe I wasn't destined to be happy.
I need a permanent escape.
This isn't working for me.
