Escaping Parts of Ourselves

All attention, every conversation must lead back to her
She swiftly turns everything into a “me” or an “I” moment.
She gets louder, more abrasive when we pretend to not hear.
The harder she tries to get our attention, the harder we run away
Escaping not only her, but the part of ourselves we despise the most.

Good one, Caren. It is often not intentional. We all do it, though mostly when we can't think of anything to talk about and the conversation has gone embarrassingly quiet. Men do it too.
